Chypre 53(1953)
Guerlain ยท Jacques Guerlain ยท Chypre
At a glance
Guerlain's own entry in the chypre genre, created by Jacques Guerlain more than three decades after Coty had founded the family and after the house's own Mitsouko had become one of its most celebrated expressions. It opens on bergamot, moves through a rose-and-jasmine heart, and closes on the classic oakmoss-labdanum-patchouli base defining the genre. Arriving relatively late in the chypre family's development, it represents Guerlain's continued engagement with an established genre the house had already helped mature through Mitsouko decades earlier.
