What it smells like

Bergamot smells like the peel of a citrus fruit caught between lemon and orange: bright, sparkling and juicy, but with a soft floral sweetness and a gentle bitter edge. There is a faint green, almost lavender-like freshness underneath that keeps it from tasting like plain fruit. It is a fleeting top note that lifts a composition in the first minutes, then fades to leave a clean, airy trace. Perfumers use it to make blends feel fresh, elegant and slightly sunlit.
