At a glance

Amber is a fragrance family built on warm resinous materials like labdanum, giving compositions a sweet, golden-toned depth.

Warm, sensual, and heavy — built on vanilla, tonka bean, resins like benzoin and myrrh, and spice. Formerly called "Oriental," a label the industry has largely retired as geographically imprecise; "Amber" is now the standard term. One of the seven classic French families, and the root of the Fragrance Wheel's Amber umbrella group, which splits further into Soft Amber, Amber, and Woody Amber.
