Nahema(1979)

Created by Jean-Paul Guerlain, Nahema opens on rose, peach, aldehydes, green notes, and bergamot, moves through an elaborate heart of Bulgarian rose, hyacinth, ylang-ylang, lilac, jasmine, and lily of the valley, and closes on Peru balsam, sandalwood, passionfruit, vanilla, and vetiver. Guerlain reportedly composed it in tribute to Scheherazade, the storyteller of One Thousand and One Nights, aiming for an opulent, sensual rose. Its dense rose-fruit-balsam structure is widely regarded as one of the most technically accomplished and materially generous rose compositions of the 20th century, remaining part of Guerlain's core catalog.
