Fougere is a fragrance family built on a lavender-coumarin-oakmoss accord, an abstract fresh-green scent with no real floral counterpart.
An aromatic structure built on lavender, oakmoss, and coumarin, usually opened with citrus. Named for Houbigant's 1882 Fougère Royale — the first fragrance built specifically around coumarin, a newly synthesized aroma chemical at the time. Fougère went on to define men's fragrance for over a century.
