Ysatis(1983)

Created by Dominique Ropion for Givenchy, Ysatis opens on aldehydes, ylang-ylang, and mandarin, moves through a heart of tuberose, jasmine, and rose, and closes on civet, oakmoss, and sandalwood. Its dense, animalic white-floral structure situates it among the bold, maximalist florals that defined much of 1980s prestige perfumery, and it marked an early significant composition from Ropion, who would go on to create numerous landmark fragrances across the following decades.
