Drakkar Eau de Toilette(1972)

Created by Guy Laroche's in-house perfumers, Drakkar opens on bergamot, lavender, and basil, moves through a heart of rosewood, carnation, and cinnamon, and closes on oakmoss, sandalwood, patchouli, and musk. Named for the Viking longships, it evokes a rugged, adventurous masculinity, and its spiced-woody-oakmoss structure laid the groundwork for the house's far more commercially significant Drakkar Noir released a decade later.
