Y(1964)
Yves Saint Laurent ยท Jean Amic ยท Chypre
At a glance
Created by Jean Amic for the newly founded house of Yves Saint Laurent, Y opens on aldehydes, galbanum, and peach, moves through a heart of jasmine, rose, and hyacinth, and closes on oakmoss, vetiver, and sandalwood. It represented one of Saint Laurent's earliest fragrance releases following the launch of his couture house in 1962, applying a green-aldehydic structure in the same general lineage as Chanel No. 19 and Rive Gauche would later develop.
