Visa(1941)

Created by Germaine Cellier for Robert Piguet, Visa opens on bergamot and green notes, moves through a heart of jasmine, rose, and carnation, and closes on oakmoss, leather, and musk. It represents one of Cellier's earliest compositions for Piguet, predating her more radical and historically celebrated Bandit and Fracas by several years, though its green-leather-oakmoss structure already shows the assertive, non-conventionally-pretty style that would define her later work. Cellier, one of the few prominent female perfumers of her era working at the highest level of the industry, built a reputation for compositions that departed sharply from the soft, powdery florals typical of women's perfumery at the time.
