Quadrille Eau de Toilette(1955)

Created by Francis Fabron for Balenciaga, Quadrille opens on bergamot and aldehydes, moves through a heart of jasmine, rose, and carnation, and closes on oakmoss, leather, patchouli, and amber. Named for the formal 19th-century square dance, it suggests structured elegance, consistent with Balenciaga's architectural approach to both fashion and fragrance. Its oakmoss-leather-patchouli base gives it a darker, chypre-adjacent depth distinguishing it from the house's earlier, softer Le Dix.
