Paris(1983)

Created by Sophia Grojsman for Yves Saint Laurent, Paris opens on bergamot and green notes, moves through an intensely rosy heart of rose, violet, mimosa, and lily of the valley, and closes on amber, sandalwood, and musk. Its saturated, purple-toned rose-violet accord and matching magenta packaging made it one of the most visually and olfactorily distinctive florals of the 1980s, still cited as a benchmark for Grojsman's characteristic technique of building an overwhelming, radiant rose from carefully layered supporting florals.
