Muguet du Bonheur(1952)

Created by Michel Morsetti for Caron, Muguet du Bonheur, Lily of the Valley of Happiness, opens on green notes, moves through a lily-of-the-valley soliflore heart, and closes on jasmine and musk. It ties the fragrance to the French tradition of gifting muguet sprigs on May Day as tokens of good luck and happiness, the same cultural association Houbigant's Premier Mai had drawn on three decades earlier. Muguet du Bonheur became one of Caron's most beloved simple florals, its cheerful, uncomplicated character offering a lighter counterpart to the house's more elaborate orientals and chypres.
