Muguet des Bois(1941)

Created by Henri Robert for Coty, Muguet des Bois, Lily of the Valley of the Woods, opens on green leaves, aldehydes, bergamot, and orange, moves through a heart of lily of the valley, lilac, cyclamen, and jasmine and rose, and closes on musk and sandalwood. Its densely layered muguet-lilac-cyclamen heart represents one of the more elaborate lily-of-the-valley compositions in the genre's history, building well beyond the simple soliflores that Houbigant and Coty itself had released decades earlier. Henri Robert, who succeeded Francois Coty's original perfumers, brought a more technically sophisticated, aldehyde-supported approach to the house's continuing muguet tradition.
