Moustache(1949)

Created by Edmond Roudnitska for Rochas, Moustache opens on bergamot and citrus, moves through a heart of aromatic herbs and spices, and closes on leather, musk, woods, and oakmoss. Its confidently masculine name and dry, herbal-leather structure positioned it as a clear men's counterpart to Roudnitska's celebrated Femme, part of a broader postwar trend of fashion houses building out matched masculine and feminine fragrance lines. It became one of Rochas's signature men's fragrances, remaining in the house's catalog for decades and cited as an important reference point in mid-century masculine perfumery.
