Le Baiser du Faune(1929)

Created by Molinard's in-house perfumers, Le Baiser du Faune, The Faun's Kiss, opens on aldehydes, bergamot, and peach, moves through a heart of rose, carnation, jasmine, heliotrope, and violet, and closes on musk, sandalwood, oakmoss, and amber. Its mythological naming, referencing the goat-legged woodland deity of Greek and Roman legend, evokes a playful, faintly illicit sensuality in keeping with the era's fashion for classically-inspired fragrance themes. The five-note floral heart represents one of Molinard's more materially generous compositions from the late 1920s.
