Created by Jacques Cavallier for Issey Miyake, L'Eau d'Issey opens on lotus, freesia, rose, and cyclamen, moves through a heart of lily, carnation, and peony, and closes on sandalwood, musk, and amber. Its clean, watery, minimalist floral structure, matched by the designer's own pared-back aesthetic, became one of the defining fragrances of the 1990s aquatic-floral trend and remains one of Issey Miyake's most commercially significant releases.
