L'Eau d'Hiver(1996)

Created by Jean-Claude Ellena for Frederic Malle's Editions de Parfums, L'Eau d'Hiver opens on bergamot, moves through a heart of iris and heliotrope, and closes on honey and musk. Its title, Winter Water, describes a warm, powdery composition despite the cool implication, and it represents one of Ellena's contributions to Malle's influential publishing-house model of perfumery, which credited individual perfumers by name and gave them unusual creative freedom.
