Irise(1923)

An iris soliflore from Lanvin's in-house perfumers, opening on bergamot before the iris heart, closing on musk, sandalwood, and woods. Released four years before the house's landmark Arpege, it represents part of Lanvin's early fragrance output under founder Jeanne Lanvin, who had established her perfume division in 1923 as an extension of her already-successful couture house. Iris, requiring years of aging before use, made this soliflore a costly showcase even in Lanvin's earliest fragrance offerings.
