Fernery at Twilight(1932)

A fern-and-woods composition from Coty's in-house perfumers, opening on bergamot and green notes before a heart of fern and woods, closing on coumarin, oakmoss, and musk. Its coumarin-oakmoss-fern structure situates it within the fougere family Houbigant had founded fifty years earlier with Fougere Royale, applied here with a more evocatively poetic English-language name than the genre's typically French titles. It represents one of Coty's ventures into fougere territory alongside the house's more typical florals and orientals.
