Feminite du Bois(1992)

Created by Christopher Sheldrake for Shiseido, later associated with Serge Lutens, Feminite du Bois opens on plum, cinnamon, and bergamot, moves through a heart of cedarwood, rose, and carnation, and closes on sandalwood, vanilla, and musk. Sheldrake built the fragrance around an unusually prominent, almost solo treatment of cedarwood softened with fruit and spice, a structure that would later directly inspire his celebrated collaborations with Serge Lutens, and it remains a frequently cited landmark in the modern woody-fruity genre.
