Farnesiana(1947)

Created by Michel Morsetti for Caron, Farnesiana opens on bergamot, moves through a heart combining cassie (Acacia farnesiana), mimosa, and orris, and closes on vanilla, heliotrope, and musk. Its cassie-mimosa pairing continues Caron's long-running interest in the acacia-mimosa floral family first explored in the house's 1929 Acaciosa, applying it here in a softer, more powdery register alongside heliotrope and vanilla. Morsetti, who succeeded founder Ernest Daltroff as Caron's principal perfumer, brought his own sensibility to the house's established floral traditions in this release.
