En Passant(2000)

Created by Olivia Giacobetti for Frederic Malle's Editions de Parfums, En Passant opens on cucumber, moves through a heart of lilac and wheat, and closes on white musk. Its unusual, deliberately fleeting structure aims to capture the momentary, half-noticed scent of lilac blossoms drifting past on a spring walk, a conceptual approach characteristic of Giacobetti's minimalist, atmospheric style and Malle's publishing-house model of individually credited perfumer projects.
