Dune(1991)

Created by Jean-Louis Sieuzac for Christian Dior, Dune opens on bergamot, mandarin, aldehydes, peony, and broom, moves through a heart of wallflower, rose, lily, jasmine, and ylang-ylang, and closes on sandalwood, amber, oakmoss, vanilla, and musk. Its unusual combination of salty, mineral-tinged florals with a warm ambery base was designed to evoke a desert-meets-ocean landscape, and it remains one of the more distinctive, atmospheric feminine releases of the early 1990s.
