A Creed leather composition distinct from Chanel's earlier fragrance of the same name, opening on bergamot and citrus, moving through a heart of birch tar and jasmine, and closing on leather, musk, and oakmoss. Like Chanel's 1924 Cuir de Russie, it uses birch tar to recreate the smoky, tarry character of historically tanned Russian leather, though Creed's version applies the theme within its own house style of citrus-forward, restrained masculine compositions.
