Created by Guy Robert for Hermes, Caleche opens on aldehydes and bergamot, moves through a heart of rose, iris, and jasmine, and closes on sandalwood, oakmoss, and musk. It represented Hermes's first fragrance created specifically for women, following the house's earlier Eau d'Hermes a decade before, and its name, meaning a horse-drawn carriage, ties it directly to the house's equestrian heritage. Its refined aldehydic-iris structure situates it among the sophisticated, restrained florals of the early 1960s.
