Antaeus(1981)

Created by Jacques Polge for Chanel, Antaeus opens on bergamot, basil, and mandarin, moves through a heart of myrtle, labdanum, and patchouli, and closes on leather, oakmoss, musk, and vetiver. Named for the mythological giant said to draw strength from contact with the earth, its dense, herbal-leather-patchouli structure gave Chanel a bold, masculine counterpart to its refined feminine catalog, and it remains one of the house's most respected men's fragrances among perfume enthusiasts.
