Decanoic acid

Capric (decanoic) acid is a C10 saturated fatty acid obtained from natural fats such as coconut, goat milk or palm kernel oil and also produced synthetically; it gives a waxy, cheesy, slightly rancid note and serves as a fixative in perfumery.
