Points come from real activity: rating a perfume, commenting, adding to your collection, and having a photo you submit approved. Only members who've opted into the public wall (in Account settings) appear here, this isn't everyone, just those who chose to be seen. See also the Founding Members roster, grouped by the month people joined rather than ranked by points.
