Le Sien, His Own or Hers, offers a deliberately ambiguous possessive title without specifying gender, and its lavender-fern-coumarin-adjacent structure situates it within the fougere tradition Houbigant had founded nearly fifty years earlier, applied here with Patou's characteristically dense, multi-material richness. The specificity of naming both Bourbon vetiver and Mysore sandalwood, rather than generic woods, points to genuinely high-grade sourcing of these two regionally distinct raw materials.
