A cologne-strength companion to Chanel No. 5, released the same year as the original parfum, sharing its aldehydic-jasmine-rose structure over a lighter sandalwood-musk base. It offered a more diffusive, frequently-reapplied alternative to the flagship parfum's richer concentration, part of Chanel's early strategy for building out the fragrance's product range.
